We where contacted to investigate a home in Asheville North Carolina, The home owners where having a good bit of  activity in the home from unusual noises, to a bright white light above the furnace.  Once we got started we began in the basement area where the bright light was seen over the furnace. We began to notice a smell that at the time was very faint and did not concern us at the time. After an hour we decide to go up stairs and investigate the areas of interest, when we where done we headed back down to the basement. This time the smell was very strong, we knew we had to find the source of the smell. After looking for thirty minutes or so we found where the smell was coming from, it was an old heating oil line that supplied the heat to the home in the fifties and had been crumpet off due to the new natural gas line that was stalled. We  noticed that the line was leaking and became very concerned for are health and the family. We decide to cut the investigation short due to this and let the family know what we found in the basement and the dangers it can cause. She did mention that her 5 moth old baby started having seizures only in the home since they moved in. The cause of these seizures could be that the baby is in the home 24 hours a day. We always tell our investigators that its not the ghosts you have to be concerned  about, its the unknowns at a location.
